Anthony M. Babauta, Assistant Secretary for Insular Areas, U.S. Department of the Interior visited the University of Guam\u00a0Center for Island Sustainability model home on Tuesday, July 17, to learn more about its energy efficient features and the university’s Green Initiative. The model home is located at House no. 32 Dean’s Circle on the UOG Campus.<\/p>\n
After the tour, Babauta spent time visiting with the UOG Green interns. \u201cI wish to commend the University of Guam, President Underwood and the faculty and students for being real pioneers and creative thinkers. Going and being \u2019green\u2019 is much about developing\u00a0a mindset and trend others seek to emulate,\u201d Babauta said.<\/p>\n
The Center for Island Sustainability Model Home is open to the public from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and anyone interested may ask for a tour of the house.
