(Saipan Tribune)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Saipan Community School named its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Fair winners last month.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth grader Jii Lee topped the elementary division with her \u201cDon\u2019t Get Swelled\u201d project, while winning the junior high category was seventh grader Jason Sablan with his \u201cQuantifying Electrolytes\u201d submission.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the overall elementary and junior high winners, SCS also chose the Top 3 winners in each grade level.<\/p>\n<p>Joining Lee in the winners\u2019 circle in fourth grade were second place Irene Kim (\u201cNail Polish Quality vs. Price\u201d) and third place Soledad Sablan (\u201cCounting Steps\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>The fifth grade winners were first place Camille Sablan with her \u201cBest Power To Grow\u201d concept followed by Olivia Huang\u2019s \u201cBrand New Pennies For Sale\u201d and Paul William Camacho-Deleon Guerrero\u2019s (Leaf Growth), who came in second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Moon Zeng\u2019s \u201cThe Speed of Data\u201d topped the STEM Fair in Grade 7, while Tina Zhen\u2019s \u201cWhat Did You Eggspect?\u201d and Sukey Wu\u2019s \u201cIce Into Water\u201d finished second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Other winners in eighth grade were Puti\u2019on Palacios Camacho and Maxine Rabago whose \u201cDuel Fuel\u201d and \u201cDoes Font Style Affect Memory\u201d came in second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>SCS principal Amanda Dunn lauded all the winners and participants: \u201cI am so very impressed with the hard work our SCS students brought forth in this year\u2019s science fair projects. It was a great opportunity for our students to develop positive attitudes about themselves and their work.
