Police arrested last week two of the five suspects who allegedly beat up three men in Chalan Kanoa.<\/p>\n
Darren Michael, 23, a cook, and Steve Hanson Paul, 19, also known as Myson, were arrested for aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace. Their bail was set at $10,000 cash each; preliminary hearing will be on March 16 at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n
Private attorneys will be appointed as counsel for Michael and Paul. Assistant attorney general Jonathan Glass Jr. appeared for the government.<\/p>\n
In the alleged attack, Gordon Jake Phillip was seriously injured while two of his friends\u2014Anisio Sukuna and Albert Esufo\u2014were knocked unconscious when five men, including a juvenile armed with a baseball bat, attacked them last March 5. <\/p>\n
Phillip is now in the intensive care unit of the Commonwealth Health Center. <\/p>\n
Sukuna suffered lacerations behind the head, face, lips, ears, and cheeks, while Esufo sustained minor injury to the right eye and scratches on the right knee, police said.<\/p>\n
Ethan James Teregeyo Calvo, 19, was earlier arrested and had a bail hearing last Wednesday. His bail was set at $25,000 cash. Assistant public defender Michael Sato is his counsel.<\/p>\n
