Monroyo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kana Football Club and Shirley\u2019s FC kept their perfect records in the girls U15 division of the 2017 NMIFA Youth Spring League after prevailing in their respective games last Saturday at the Francisco Mendiola Sablan Middle School Field.<\/p>\n<p>Kanoa played in the first match last weekend and shut down Matansa, 15-0, while Shirley\u2019s topped Southern United FC in the final game, 6-2.<\/p>\n<p>Jerlyn Castillo towed Shirley\u2019s to its third win in as many games after scoring four goals. She made back-to-back goals in a span of eight minutes in the first half, putting Shirley\u2019s on the board in the third minute and then getting her second goal in the 11th. She also closed out for the defending champion, posting her third goal in the 56th minute and fourth and last in the 68th.<\/p>\n<p>Lillian Podziewski and Sharmaine Olivos registered the two other goals for Shirley\u2019s with the former lighting up the board in the 28th minute and the latter in the 49th. Southern United, which is still winless in its debut season in the division, got its two goals from Keisha Deleon Guerrero and Mariel Joy Falamlimpa. Both of Southern\u2019s goals came in the second half with Deleon Guerrero finding the back of the net in the 61st minute and Falamlimpa five minutes later.<\/p>\n<p>In the Kanoa-Matansa tiff, Paulyn Grace Joyce knocked in five goals to power the division leader to its fourth victory in as many matches.<\/p>\n<p>Joyce also drew enough help from Princess Alcantara and Sharmaine Francisco, who drilled four goals apiece in Kanoa\u2019s easy win. Erica Santiago chipped in two goals.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, MP United joined Kanoa and Shirley\u2019s in the Top 3 in the team standings of the seven-squad field after beating Paire, 8-1.<\/p>\n<p>Fiona Marielle Bucalig made a hat trick, while her sister Francesca and Wonji Kim recorded two goals apiece for MP United, which now has a 2-1-1 card. Maaya Sato also hit the board for MP United, while Doris Ayuyu averted a Paire shutdown when she scored in the 50th minute.<\/p>\n<p>Paire is behind MP United at fourth place with its 1-0-2 mark. Completing the standings are Matansa (1-0-3), Southern (0-1-2), and idle TanHoldings (0-0-3).<\/p>\n<p><strong>CO-ED U12<br \/>\nMatansa 8, Kanoa-2 2<\/strong><br \/>\nMatansa finally barged into the win column this season after dropping its first three games.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Megino starred in Matansa\u2019s triumph over Kanoa after firing four goals. Jin Wen Xin contributed two goals, while Chanyang Wang added one, and Matansa got an own goal. <\/p>\n<p>Kanoa-2 drew its two goals from Devin Propst and Lester Bata with the former scoring in the 36th minute and the latter in the 19th.<\/p>\n<p>With the victory against Kanoa-2 and its record of 1-0-3, Matansa moved up a bit in the team standings of the five-squad field, occupying the fourth spot. Kanoa-2 is at the cellar with its 0-0-4 slate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MP United 3, TanHoldings 3<\/strong><br \/>\nIn the other game in the division, MP United forced a draw against TanHoldings.<\/p>\n<p>Garrett Weaver had a pair of goals for MP United, including the equalizer in the second half. All of MP United\u2019s goals came in the final 30 minutes of play with Dev Bachani posting the team\u2019s first goal.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony John Bergancia also had two goals for TanHoldings and both were earned in the second half, while Ariel Narvaez scored for the squad in the first frame. TanHoldings is in second place in the team standings with its 3-1-1 record, while MP United is ranked third with its 2-2-1 mark.
