{"id":248416,"date":"2017-03-16T06:06:34","date_gmt":"2017-03-15T20:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=248416"},"modified":"2017-03-16T06:06:34","modified_gmt":"2017-03-15T20:06:34","slug":"mhs-khs-represent-saipan-clash-guam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/mhs-khs-represent-saipan-clash-guam\/","title":{"rendered":"MHS, KHS represent Saipan in clash with Guam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Marianas High School and Kagman High School would be representing Saipan in a competition hosted by the University of Guam to showcase the meeting of creativity, energy efficiency, and architecture in the 2017 Green Dream Home competition.<\/p>\n<p>The competition enables students in Guam and the CNMI to come up with an energy-efficient home design that would thrive in the region\u2019s island setting.<\/p>\n<p>The first place winners for the 2017 islandwide Green Dream Home competition is MHS\u2019 Dolphinatic Architects, which consists of Ian Cataluna, Michaela Gatdula, Jewel Cubangbang, Marie Manebo, Hajin Oh, and Melissa Santos.<\/p>\n<p>Kagman High School came in second and consists of Rhea Adolfo, Catalina Cabrera, Maureen Mendiola, and Aira Ngalongalo.<\/p>\n<p>Coached by Public School Systems\u2019 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Fair director Jeaniffer Cubangbang, the Dolphinatic Architects\u2019 Michaela Gatdula told Saipan Tribune that the experience has brought them together. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing able to win first place with my team was such an honor, knowing that all the hard work did not go to waste,\u201d said Gatdula.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoing through the process really made us all close, which was also a blessing, knowing that it also made us a family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The theme for the competition this year is the school setting.
