{"id":248863,"date":"2017-03-24T06:00:14","date_gmt":"2017-03-23T20:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=248863"},"modified":"2017-03-24T06:00:14","modified_gmt":"2017-03-23T20:00:14","slug":"mcs-theatre-club-presents-2forrealz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/mcs-theatre-club-presents-2forrealz\/","title":{"rendered":"MCS Theatre  Club presents  #2ForRealz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend, Mount Carmel School\u2019s Theatre Club brings to the stage its first ever sequel, #2ForRealz.\u00a0 The follow-up to last year\u2019s smash hit, For Realz, #2ForRealz is an original dramatic comedy written by the club and directed by club veteran Zeno Deleon Guerrero.<\/p>\n<p>#2ForRealz will simulate a reunion show for a fake reality TV show of the same name and follows the conflict between a group of boys and a group of girls. The production focuses on a number of issues that teens face on a daily basis: cyberbullying, relationships, and suicide, to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>While Deleon Guerrero served as floor manager for numerous productions and starred in last year\u2019s production of Bram Stoker\u2019s Dracula, #2ForRealz marks his directorial debut.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want this play to be a voice, an outlet, for people who have experienced or are experiencing these issues,\u201d said Deleon Guerrero. \u201cI want the audience to recognize that these stories weren\u2019t just made up by some teens in a classroom; they\u2019re happening to people around us today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a reunion special, the production will rotate back and forth between stage performances and film clips from the TV show, both of which were developed organically through improvisation exercises with the cast.<\/p>\n<p>#2ForRealz features an ensemble cast: Anthony Deleon Guerrero, You Jin Jun, Kelvin Cepeda, Rosalia Pangelinan, Maria Terlaje, Monica Usi, and Theresa Zheng. The show will also feature a cameo by 2015 AlumKnight and Theatre Club veteran Aysia Santos, who will play the show\u2019s host. Santos also directed the show\u2019s prequel, For Realz last year.<\/p>\n<p>#2ForRealz runs on\u00a0Friday, March 24, and\u00a0Saturday, March 25, at Pacific Islands Club\u2019s Charley\u2019s. Doors open at\u00a06:30pm\u00a0nightly. Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased at the Mount Carmel School Business Office.Advanced purchase of tickets is advised. Also, due to mature content and graphic language, adult discretion is also advised.<\/p>\n<p>The show is presented with the generous support of Pacific Islands Club and Tribe Marianas. A portion of the proceeds will go towards efforts to curb cyberbullying.
