United Airlines\u2019 Guam employees have received a prestigious gold safety award. The Guam hub worked diligently to achieve gold status in United\u2019s Safety Excellence Program.<\/p>\n
The Safety Excellence Program is designed to reduce recordable and lost-time injuries of employees as well as aircraft damage. United modeled its program after the Occupational Safety and Health Administration\u2019s Voluntary Protection Programs.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are very pleased to honor our Guam team with a gold safety award,\u201d said Greg Hart, United\u2019s executive vice president and chief operations officer. \u201cThe award recognizes the hub\u2019s outstanding commitment to ensuring the safety of our employees. The Safety Excellence Program recognizes locations for good safety performance and culture. The certification process measures results in process knowledge, application, reductions in occupational injury, and aircraft damage rates. The gold award means achieving better than industry average.\u00a0<\/p>\n
