{"id":250341,"date":"2017-04-17T06:06:48","date_gmt":"2017-04-16T20:06:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=250341"},"modified":"2017-04-17T06:06:48","modified_gmt":"2017-04-16T20:06:48","slug":"man-wanted-south-carolina-agrees-removed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/man-wanted-south-carolina-agrees-removed\/","title":{"rendered":"Man wanted in South Carolina agrees to be removed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The federal court ordered on Friday the transfer to the District of South Carolina a man who was indicted in 2015 with false statement in that district and was arrested last Thursday on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona directed the U.S. Marshal Service to transfer Tarrell Darnell Murphy, who waived his right to have an identity hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy did not dispute that it was him who was indicted in South Carolina and is the subject of an arrest warrant.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy, who was represented by attorney Bruce Berline, has also agreed to voluntary removal.<\/p>\n<p>Manglona said Murphy will be held pending his transfer.<\/p>\n<p>Berline asked about the time frame to transfer Murphy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m concerned about lengthy detention here,\u201d Berline said.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Marshal Don Hall said they will be moving quickly with the transfer, which may take place within 10 calendar days.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina issued the arrest warrant on July 30, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>According to court documents, the District of Carolina issued the arrest warrant against Murphy for failure to appear for initial appearance on a supervised release violation scheduled for July 21, 2015 at 10am.<\/p>\n<p>According to an indictment, on March 2, 2015 in the District of South Carolina, Murphy \u201cknowingly made a false statement in an application for a passport with intent to induce and secure for his own use the issuance of a passport.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In that application, Murphy allegedly assumed the identity of \u201cDemetrius Rakim Mcllwain,\u201d which identify he knew to be false.<\/p>\n<p>Court documents did not indicate the specific place on Saipan where the defendant was arrested.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The federal court ordered on Friday the transfer to the District of South Carolina a&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[16324,93,3103,16372],"class_list":["post-250341","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-demetrius-rakim-mcllwain","tag-district-court","tag-south-carolina","tag-tarrell-darnell-murphy"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/250341","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/23"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=250341"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/250341\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=250341"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=250341"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=250341"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
