Many Saipan residents felt the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that jolted the Mariana Islands last Friday at 3:50pm. <\/p>\n
According to the U.S. Geological Service, the earthquake\u2019s epicenter was 28 kilometers north-east of Rota at a depth of 109.4 kilometers.<\/p>\n
Based on available data, there was no tsunami threat.<\/p>\n
Saipan Tribune learned that there were no reports of injuries or damage to property. <\/p>\n
Liza, a resident of Saipan, said she was working on her desk, when she felt the shaking for a brief period. She said she felt dizzy after the temblor.<\/p>\n
A resident of Chalan Kanoa on Saipan said the jolt lasted about three seconds, but not strong.<\/p>\n
The CK resident noticed the water in their 5-gallon bottle swaying after the little shaking.<\/p>\n
A Rota police officer said he did not feel the earthquake and also did not hear about it from anybody.<\/p>\n
A hotel employee on Rota said she also did not feel and hear about the earthquake. She said she was at home at that time.<\/p>\n
