Go See Mark stays on course for a perfect record in the regular season of the 2017 Saipan Baseball League following another win last week at the Francisco \u201cTan Ko\u201d Palacios Ballfield.<\/p>\n

GSM downed the Comets last Thursday, 9-6, for the former\u2019s 11th victory in as many games\u2014just three triumphs away from a sweep in the two-round robin elimination. The league-leading squad was gunning for win No. 12 last night against the defending champion Chalan Kanoa Bears, while GSM\u2019s last two matches will be versus the BSI Aces (May 4) and the D-9ers (May 10).<\/p>\n

A five-run inning at the bottom of the first gave GSM the driver\u2019s seat and it protected its lead after shutting down the Comets in the last three innings. GSM got two runs off the Comets\u2019 errors, one each off a wild pitch and fielder\u2019s choice, while Ricardo Dela Cruz gave the former\u2019s its fifth run when he reached off Pat Alepuyo\u2019s sacrifice fly. <\/p>\n

GSM then added two more runs in the fourth inning and one each in the sixth and seventh, while the Comets had only two in the first inning and one apiece in the third and fourth. Two more runs at the top of the sixth inning kept the Comets in the game. However, the Comets fell short in the end after going 1-2-3 in the seventh and ninth and finishing the eighth with two runners stranded as GSM closer Kevin Kapileo got the third out after fanning out the former\u2019s fourth batter.<\/p>\n

Diego Camacho, Anthony Tenorio, and Tyrone Omar scored two runs each in GSM\u2019s victory over the Comets.<\/p>\n

In other results last week, the Blue Jays finally broke into the win column after going 0-9 following their 8-5 triumph against the D-9ers last Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Shortstop Virgil Secharmidal towed the Blue Jays to victory after going 4-for-6 at bat and scoring three runs. Russell Hocog, James Benavente, Ben Flores, Davy Matagolai, and Chris George also helped the Blue Jays\u2019 cause, contributing one RBI each.<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays were behind, 0-2, after two complete innings, but managed to recover and grab the lead as they scored in the next six innings.<\/p>\n

Titanium was also without a run in the first two innings of its game against the Chalan Kanoa Bears last Wednesday, but was able to find its rhythm later to stun the defending champion.<\/p>\n

A RBI single from Nathan Camacho at the bottom of the third broke the ice for Titanium, which tamed the Bears in the first five innings. The Bears then tied the match at the top of the sixth as Marvin Kaipat reached off a Titanium error, however the latter countered with four runs at the bottom to regain the upper hand and kept it to gain win No. 4.<\/p>\n

The Bears missed as chance to extend the game when their two runners were left stranded at first and third base as Titanium booted out the defending champion\u2019s last three batters. Nathan Camacho caught an infield fly from A.J. Lizama, while Jon Cabrera also grabbed a fly from Jose Lizama at centerfield. The Bears\u2019 Kiku Lizama was called for a fly out too earlier for the first out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
