Govendo dismissed without prejudice on Oct. 31, 2016 the criminal case against the co-defendant of convicted Corrections Officer Ray Anthony Maratita Camacho, according to court records.<\/p>\n<p>Govendo dismissed the case against Corrections Officer Admisen D. Haddy pursuant to an agreement between Haddy and the Office of the Attorney General.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant attorney general Matthew C. Baisley, counsel for the government, filed the motion to dismiss without prejudice on Oct. 27, 2016 pursuant to the prosecution\u2019s agreement with Haddy.<\/p>\n<p>The information charged Haddy and Camacho with assault and battery over the beating of then-inmate Ryan Cavalear at DOC on April 1, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Dismissed without prejudice means the government may re-open the case in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Last Nov. 2, citing that the case has been resolved, Haddy\u2019s counsel, Mark B. Hanson, requested the court to order the release of Haddy\u2019s travel documents, the $600 cash bail posted in the case, and all other conditions, including court-appointed third-party custodians.<\/p>\n<p>Haddy testified for the government during the recent bench trial of Camacho. <\/p>\n<p>Last April 18, Govendo, who presided over the trial, found the 37-year-old Camacho guilty as to the charge of assault and battery.<\/p>\n<p>Sentencing will be on June 6, 2017 at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>In announcing his verdict against Camacho, Govendo noted that Haddy, whom he is more convinced hurt Cavalear much more than Camacho did, is still working at DOC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L.
