The 33rd Annual Attorney General\u2019s Cup Speech Competition will be held on May 5 at the Guma Hustisia at 9am. This year, eight high schools will be participating, including Marianas High School, Saipan Southern High School, Kagman High School, Grace Christian Academy, Marianas Baptist Academy, Dr. Rita H. Inos High School, Mt. Carmel School, and Saipan International School.<\/p>\n
Students are busy preparing their speeches for this year\u2019s topic, which is focused on federalism and the rights of the Commonwealth under the Covenant. The subject matter will be explored in the context of management of natural resources for the benefit of the public, and will focus on whether local control or federal management is the better approach.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a very interesting and appropriate issue for our students to learn more on the interplay between the federal authority and the Commonwealth\u2019s self-governance under the Covenant,\u201d said Attorney General Edward Manibusan. \u201cI am really looking forward to hearing what the students learned on this topic.\u201d<\/p>\n
