It is for this reason that the Saipan Chamber of Commerce continues to award Educational Scholarships every June at its General Membership Meeting in the amount of $12,000.

The Educational Scholarship Fund offers a one-time monetary award in the following categories: Four (4) high school scholarships, One (1) college scholarship, and one (1) Pellegrino Vocational scholarship.

As one former scholarship recipient states, “My first year at Barnard College/Columbia University has been euphoric as well as challenging, but I wouldn’t want my experience to be any other way. I wouldn’t have experienced this life-changing year if it weren’t for the Chamber of Commerce scholarship program. In comparison to the expenses of New York City, perhaps what I have received was not much. However, the grant was key in helping me fill up my Swiss-cheese-like financial aid package. Financial instability is arguably the most stressful thing any college student can endure, but I didn’t have to worry too much because the money I received from the Chamber of Commerce scholarship program alleviated the trouble.”

Hard copies of the Chamber scholarship applications are available at the Chamber office and will also be delivered to schools. Chamber scholarship applications are also available for download on its website: www.saipanchamber.com. Applicants are encouraged to complete the application and submit them on or before the deadline of 5pm, Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at our office in the Marianas Business Plaza 3rd floor, Suite #315. Scholarships will be awarded at the monthly General Membership Meeting on June 7, 2017.
