Wiseman handed down yesterday a nine-year sentence against a 41-year-old man who sexually abused a girl on Tinian since she was 8 or 9 years old.<\/div>\n<p>Wiseman said he believes that John Ibanez Carreon&#8217;s conduct was reprehensible and subject to a serious prison sentence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe victimized not only one, but some of the most protected members in any civilized-the young, the innocent, and the defenseless children,\u201d the judge said.<\/p>\n<p>The girl is now 12 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Wiseman sentenced Carreon to a total of 16 years in prison, all suspended except for nine years with credit for time served.<\/p>\n<p>Carreon will be released from prison on Jan. 26, 2020. He will then be placed on probation for seven years. He was required to pay a $2,500 fine, $100 court assessment fee, plus a probation fee.<\/p>\n<p>Carreon was also ordered to perform 2,000 hours of community service, register as a sex offender, and complete sex offender treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant and his counsel, Joaquin Torres, signed a plea agreement with the government, represented by assistant attorney general Shelli Neal.<\/p>\n<p>Police arrested Carreon on Tinian on Jan. 25, 2012, after a concerned citizen called the Tinian police two days earlier about a sexual abuse victim who wanted to die.<\/p>\n<p>By Ferdie de la Torre<br \/>\nReporter<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Superior Court Associate Judge David A.
