We acknowledge that our youth need a safe place to come together. Many of our villages have community centers in need of rehabilitation and we try our best to assist when we can,” according to IT&E general manager Rose Soledad.

The donation was initiated by a letter received from House Commerce and Tourism Committee chair Rep. Leepan Guerrero, seeking corporate sponsors for community facilities.

Guerrero noted that the Koblerville basketball court is in need of repairs to become a suitable facility for tournaments and community use. He commended IT&E and IP&E for their contribution and dedication to community projects in the CNMI.

“This project began when our office conducted a survey and were saddened to have found drug related paraphernalia. After this project is completed, I’d like to establish it as a drug-free zone. Rehabilitating this facility would reduce truancy and limit drug-related activities in the area. IT&E has been a tremendous and generous partner of the community,” Guerrero said, adding that the preventive maintenance against vandalism after the completion of the Koblerville basketball court would be under the purview of his office.

Soledad added that in alignment with providing free high-speed internet for youth centers in the CNMI, a suitable facility for physical activity improves community engagement and enrichment. (IT&E)

During a short ceremony with government officials last Friday, IP&E and IT&E presented a $15,000…

[4
26,12106,16735,3732
post-252008","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","tag-cnmi","tag-glenna-reyes","tag-leepan-guerrero","tag-rose-soledad
["GET
