{"id":25233,"date":"2012-07-28T02:03:43","date_gmt":"2012-07-28T02:03:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newspaper.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=25233"},"modified":"2012-07-28T02:03:43","modified_gmt":"2012-07-28T02:03:43","slug":"rbc-summer-youth-program-starts-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/rbc-summer-youth-program-starts-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"RBC summer youth program starts Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The Rollers Basketball Club&#8217;s Rectify Summer Youth Basketball Program will begin this Monday at the basketball court in Koblerville.<\/div>\n<p>Registration will start at 4:30pm and activities should be up and rolling by 5:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>The program is structured as a fundamental skills clinic that ends in a tournament setting. It is designed to introduce basketball to interested youth players in the area, age 6 to 13 and will run in Koblerville for about two weeks before moving to Kagman II for Part 2 of its three-leg series. The program finishes up in Garapan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur definition of rectify is to set right and we chose it as the title because that pretty well sums up what the RBC is trying to do-be a good example for the future generation,\u201d RBC head coach Joe Diaz said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Rectify program gives the kids in these neighborhoods something to do during their summer vacation. The program is designed to be a fun and healthy way to promote a proactive lifestyle and interaction with others to help build social and leadership skills,\u201d Diaz added.<\/p>\n<p>The RBC members also contrived a catchy acronym for the banner that reads Respect-Educate-CNMI-To-Inspire- the Future-Youth.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers were trying to kick off the program last Monday, but did not receive the grant funding until last Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact Diaz at 285-4141 or Paul Camacho at 233-8978.<\/p>\n<p>By Walter J.
