Ralph DLG Torres has nominated Karidat  Social Services executive director Lauri Ogumoro to serve on the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. board.<\/p>\n<p>Ogumoro, who will represent Saipan on the board, completes the nominations for the corporation\u2019s five-person board of trustees.<\/p>\n<p>Her nomination will need to be approved by the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>Ogumoro currently serves as executive director of Karidat, a Northern Mariana Islands social services organization. It operates under the Archdiocese of Chalan Kanoa and was originally a project of now Bishop Emeritus Thomas Camacho. <\/p>\n<p>Ogumoro has been serving Karidat since 2002, where she first served as manager of Guma\u2019 Esperansa, a branch of Karidat that seeks to provide assistance to abused women and children.<\/p>\n<p>Ogumoro\u2019s prior experience in healthcare goes all the way back to 1984, serving as a medical social services manager up to 2001. Along with her involvement with the Commonwealth Health Center, Ogumoro has also served as administrator of the hemodialysis program in an acting capacity from 1998 to 2000.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to her services at CHC, Ogumoro has served the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs\u2019 Office on Aging as a social worker from 1982 to 1984.<\/p>\n<p>Ogumoro has a master\u2019s degree from the University of Hawaii, majoring in social work; she graduated cum laude of her class. Ogumoro has a bachelor\u2019s degree majoring in sociology and a minor in anthropology at the Eastern Oregon State College.<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier statement from the Torres administration, Leticia Reyes and David Rosario have also been nominated to the CHCC board. Reyes, Rosario, and Ogumoro would be representing Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>The date and specifics of the Senate public hearing have yet to be announced.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
