{"id":253062,"date":"2017-05-25T06:06:11","date_gmt":"2017-05-24T20:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=253062"},"modified":"2017-05-25T06:06:11","modified_gmt":"2017-05-24T20:06:11","slug":"luhk-sisters-still-missing-6-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/luhk-sisters-still-missing-6-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Luhk sisters still missing 6 years after"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today, Thursday, marks the sixth year of the mysterious disappearance of sisters Faloma and Maleina Luhk near a public school bus pavilion in As Teo, with still no trace of the children. <\/p>\n<p>In an interview yesterday, Elbert Quitugua, grandfather of the Lukh sisters, said they will offer prayers at the 6pm Mass today at Santa Soledad Church in Kagman. <\/p>\n<p>Quitugua said they are asking the community for their help to report to the Federal Bureau of Investigation should they have any information. <\/p>\n<p>He disclosed that the FBI has actually been briefing him on the issue, assuring him they are not making this matter a cold case. \u201cThey are still actively pursuing\u2026 doing diligent investigation. They are still not letting it sleep as a cold case. They are still pursuing the investigation,\u201d Quitugua said. <\/p>\n<p>He said last month a staff from the FBI support center in Honolulu came and assured him that they are still not stopping the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are still actively doing something about it. Other than that, the family is struggling to find closure,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>The parents of the children have been separated. The mother moved to Virginia from Guam a year ago. The father was last reported staying in Pohnpei.<\/p>\n<p>Then 10-year-old Faloma and 9-year-old Maleina Luhk were last seen on May 25, 2011, waiting for a school bus near a bus stop pavilion in As Teo.<\/p>\n<p>The sisters\u2019 disappearance resulted in the most extensive search of missing persons in CNMI history for several months.
