(MVA)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>The certified Angus beef Chefs\u2019 Competition, jointly organized by the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands and Triple J Five Star Wholesale Foods, will highlight the final night this Saturday of the 19th Annual Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival &amp; Beer Garden at Garapan Fishing Base.<\/p>\n<p>Junior chefs from participating hotels will be challenged to prepare a dish using this year\u2019s featured cut, bottom butt flap. Chefs will be provided local vegetables and herbs from Garapan Public Market, with at least two items from a mystery box of ingredients to be incorporated into the dish.<\/p>\n<p>Judging will begin at 7:30pm, with the top three winners winning cash prizes, trophies, CAB items, and the opportunity to participate in this year\u2019s CNMI Next Top Chef competition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe final night of \u2018Taste\u2019 is going to be just as exciting and delicious as the first three weeks,\u201d said MVA Community Project manager Martin Duenas.  \u201cWe invite everyone to come out and celebrate Tourism Month with us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winners of the student \u201cSee My Marianas\u201d Graphic Art Design Contest will be announced on the main stage at 8pm. The contest challenged students in grade 6-12 to use graphic design to promote their favorite sites in the Marianas, and sample entries are being featured by the MVA on their Facebook page \u201cMy Marianas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the Taste welcomed teams of two to prepare their own BBQ Pork Ribs on site, with eight teams taking the challenge. Spencer Marchadesch and Angelo Camacho placed first, father and son team Francisco Sablan Sr. and Jr. placed second, Chris and Ronald Barahan placed third, and Jonathan and Joel Camacho finished fourth. Team Marchadesch also placed second in the prior week\u2019s \u201cKadun Pika\u201d (spicy chicken) Cookoff.  <\/p>\n<p>This Saturday\u2019s entertainment lineup is scheduled to include: CNMI Awadori at 6pm, Uprooted CNMI at 6:30pm, Chuuk at 7pm, Simiyan Marianas at 7:30pm, Philippine Community at 8pm, Tiul Belau Dancers at 8:30pm, 29\/11 at 9pm, Chynman Stand Up Comedy at 9:30pm, and Tai and Ali\u2019is Show at 10pm. Entertainment is subject to change.<\/p>\n<p>Fourteen food and three beverage vendors are participating in the MVA\u2019s annual signature event, which features international cuisine at affordable prices from local hotels and restaurant vendors, non-stop live entertainment on the main stage, nightly contests on the secondary stage, and arts and crafts sales.  The festival will be extended to end at 11pm on this final night.<\/p>\n<p>Participating food vendors are Fiesta Resort &amp; Spa Saipan, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Kanoa Resort, Mariana Resort &amp; Spa, Herman\u2019s Bakery, D\u2019Elegance Cafe, Furusato Restaurant, Thai House, Tropical Chills, Sierra\u2019s Pearl Shake, Sweet Escapes, Matty\u2019s BBQ, Tony Roma\u2019s\/ Capricciosa, and Kinpachi Restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>Residents are also encouraged to show their support for Tourism Month by observing \u201cHafa Adai Tirow Spirit\u201d Island WearFridays and participating in Tourism Trivia on KCNM-KZMI, KKMP, KWAW, and Power 99.
