(Erwin Encinares)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon '>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/tms-students-head-high-school\/redz-nissi-rivera\/'>Redz-Nissi-Rivera<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-253125'>\n\t\t\t\tREDZ NISSI RIVER\nValedictorian \n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon '>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/tms-students-head-high-school\/maria-jessica-cruz\/'>Maria-Jessica-Cruz<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-253124'>\n\t\t\t\tMARIA JESSICA CRUZ\nSalutatorian\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>A total of 64 students of Tanapag Middle School were promoted to high school last Wednesday at the school\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n<p>Valedictorian Redz Nissi Rivera, who is looking forward to a high school life at Marianas High School, said in her valedictory address that her stay at TMS made her strive to be a better person everyday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wouldn\u2019t be where I am today without all of you,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Salutatorian Maria Jessica Cruz, who expects to attend Kagman High School, said that struggles should not hinder students from \u201creaching for better opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce we step into high school there would be more challenges and struggles and we should be ready for,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>Gerard van Gils, the 2017 State Teacher of the Year and TMS special guest speaker, urged the Class of 2017 to \u201cfinish what you start.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBe very careful with what you start. You want to make wise choices in choosing your endeavors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Madison Due\u00f1as was presented with the school leadership award.<\/p>\n<p>There was a five-way tie for the math subject award among Cruz, Stephenny Patrice Pangelinan, Aika Watanabe, Trinity Cruz, and Rinto Takahashi. <\/p>\n<p>The science award went to Watanabe while the English language arts award went to Trinity Cruz.<\/p>\n<p>Rivera and Cruz both received multiple awards during the promotion ceremony.
