The Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation adopted two more appropriation bills and would recommend their passage.<\/p>\n
House Local Bill 20-4, S1 and HLB 20-16 that would appropriate more than $700,000 to fund several projects.<\/p>\n
Rep. Gregorio M. Sablan Jr.\u2019s (R-Saipan) HLB 20-4 would re-appropriate unused funds amounting to $588,037 for Saipan.<\/p>\n
About $150,000 would be appropriated for the Fourth of July Liberation Day festivities under the Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
The Liberation Day committee informed delegation that that amount is enough for their activities and whatever would be left would be returned for re-appropriation.<\/p>\n
The Five Pillars of the Carolinian Community in the CNMI under the Carolinian Affairs Office is allocated $20,000, while the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library would get $80,000 that would be used to purchase books, a vehicle, and the tinting of their windows.<\/p>\n
The Council on Developmental Disabilities\u2019 Commonwealth Respite Service Program was appropriated $50,000 for its operations, $39,394 will be given to the Criminal Justice Planning Agency to purchase a vehicle, while the CNMI Museum of History and Culture was allocated $55,326 for repair and maintenance.<\/p>\n
Organizers of the 2017 CNMI Little League Baseball District Tournament, which Saipan would be hosting, is getting $8,325, while another $71,992 is appropriated for the 2017 Asia-Pacific Little League Regional Baseball Tournament.<\/p>\n
The delegation would also contribute $25,000 for the House of Chamorros project in San Diego, California, while the Mayor of the Northern Islands would get $20,000 to fund the operations of its office.<\/p>\n
Karidat is getting $20,000 for its operations, while the Northern Marianas Trades Institute would be receiving $48,000 so it could retire the arrears it owes the Department of Public Lands.<\/p>\n
HLB 20-16 would re-appropriate $10,759.92 that was allotted under Saipan Local Law 19-8 and $190,000 allotted under SLL 19-23.
