{"id":253410,"date":"2017-05-31T06:06:32","date_gmt":"2017-05-30T20:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=253410"},"modified":"2017-05-31T06:06:32","modified_gmt":"2017-05-30T20:06:32","slug":"kelvin-fitial-trouble-law-anew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/kelvin-fitial-trouble-law-anew\/","title":{"rendered":"Kelvin Fitial in trouble with the law anew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mixed martial arts fighter Kelvin \u201cThe Big Hit\u201d Fitial, who had just come off a win in a heavyweight fight on Friday, crossed paths once more with the law.<\/p>\n<p>Police arrested the 34-year-old Fitial on Saturday morning for criminal mischief, breaking into a house, and disturbing the peace. He was released later that same day.<\/p>\n<p>Acting police spokesman Jason Tarkong said yesterday that he does not know why Fitial was later released.<\/p>\n<p>He said police investigation showed that Fitial was at the GIG Discotheque in Garapan Friday night for an after-party as he had just won his heavyweight bout at the Trench Tech: Rites of Passage 21.<\/p>\n<p>At closing time at 3:15am to 3:20am Saturday, Fitial wanted to buy more alcohol, but was told that the establishment was already closed. Fitial allegedly got upset and caused a commotion by throwing objects at the bartender.<\/p>\n<p>GIG security came in and escorted Fitial out. Fitial allegedly kicked a chair, causing the bartender to fall down.<\/p>\n<p>As police officers were entertaining another incident in the area, Fitial walked away. When the officers turned around, Fitial was no longer there.<\/p>\n<p>Tarkong said that on Saturday at 7am, an elderly woman was awakened at her home in Chinatown by the sound of someone banging on the door of the house. The woman got down and saw a \u201clarge local male with dark skin\u201d in the room. She panicked and called 911. Police responded, met the woman, and searched the house. Police then saw a man, identified as Fitial, in the hallway and arrested him.<\/p>\n<p>Fitial expressed yesterday his apology to anybody he \u201ccame across\u201d on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just really want to say I\u2019m sorry. Forgive me for what I have done,\u201d Fitial said. \u201cI apologize to each one of my fans and the people of the CNMI. You guys will never hear from me doing this anymore. I will be a changed man from now on.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The MMA fighter said he understands that what he did was bad and he was just happy with his win that Friday and at the same time he drank too much.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not an excuse that I drank too much. But I am willing to accept [the consequences]. Whatever they give me I will face it,\u201d he said, adding that he \u201cblanked out.\u201d <\/p>\n<p> \u201cTo all my sponsors, to all my colleagues, and to all who knows me, I\u2019m really sorry for all what I have done,\u201d Fitial said.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2011, Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo sentenced Fitial to seven days in prison for beating up a man in Garapan in 2010.
