{"id":253472,"date":"2017-06-01T06:06:25","date_gmt":"2017-05-31T20:06:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=253472"},"modified":"2017-06-01T06:06:25","modified_gmt":"2017-05-31T20:06:25","slug":"cw-issue-focus-shrm-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/cw-issue-focus-shrm-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"CW issue on focus at SHRM meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Society for Human Resource Management NMI Chapter will have a special meeting this Friday, June 2, 2017, with former Saipan Chamber of Commerce president Alex Sablan as guest speaker.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan, a member of the Governor\u2019s Strategic Economic Development Council, will be speaking in view of the announcement by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that the foreign worker cap for the CNMI has been reached for fiscal year 2018.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sablan will brief SHRM members on the CNMI government\u2019s efforts to preserve the CW visa program and what SHRM can do as an organization to assist in the CNMI government\u2019s efforts.<\/p>\n<p>This lunch meeting will be held at the Pacific Islands Club Charley\u2019s Cabaret on Friday, June 2, 2017, from 11:30am to 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>This presentation is open to the public and will be an invaluable opportunity for employers and HR professionals and staff to better understand the issues surrounding the CW visa program.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The presentation includes the PIC lunch buffet a $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-members.
