Taste of the Marianas ended last week with the announcement of the winners of multiple contests held throughout the festival.<\/p>\n
Soon after the final night of the festival opened, the winners of the 2017 Tourism Month Graphic Art Design Contest were announced.<\/p>\n
The contest, which was open to both public and private school students from 6th to 12th grade, garnered the participation of 23 contestants.<\/p>\n
Carrie Pangelinan won first place with her picture of Obyan Beach, earning her $150 and $150 worth of Taste of the Marianas tokens. Kryzha Parungao bagged second with a picture of the Coral Ocean Golf & Resort, earning her $100 and $100 in tokens, while Louisie Zheng Li placed third for her submission of Ladder Beach, earning her $50 in both cash and tokens.<\/p>\n
Fourth and fifth place recipients were Kennedy Vila and Timothy Retirado, respectively, who earned $25 and $25 in tokens each for their submission of Suicide Cliff.<\/p>\n
D\u2019Elegance Caf\u00e9 won the booth design contest, earning it free booth space at the 20th Taste of the Marianas next year.<\/p>\n
Coming in second place was Mariana Resort and Spa, who received a 75-percent discount in booth fees for the next Taste, while third place Kanoa Resort and fourth place Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan received a 50-percent and 25-percent discount in booth fees, respectively, for next year\u2019s Taste.<\/p>\n
MVA managing director Chris Concepcion was pleased with the outcome of the festival, stating that this year\u2019s festival is record breaking and exceeded past year\u2019s token sales.<\/p>\n
