(Jon Perez)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>More jobs are available today.<\/p>\n<p>The Hong Kong-based investment giant\u2019s flagship project on Saipan continues to provide more and newer opportunities to all.<\/p>\n<p>New and exciting career opportunities that weren\u2019t available in the past are now within reach. Career opportunities that were once limited to other globally-recognized travel destinations are now available locally.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cImperial Pacific came in and that\u2019s when my spirit built up,\u201d said Juan Borja Cepeda, assistant vice president of Logistics and Supply Operation at Imperial Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>Imperial Pacific International gave a lifeline to many of Saipan\u2019s residents, and the company\u2019s focus toward bringing in world-class amenities and services continue to spur unprecedented job opportunities for all.<\/p>\n<p>For Cepeda, a retiree prior to joining Imperial Pacific, the economic and community benefits particularly helped ease the islands\u2019 difficulties. <\/p>\n<p>And as a retiree, he felt the impact.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBack then, we were only receiving 75 percent of our pension [because of a 25-percent cut]. But now our retirees are secured,\u201d Cepeda said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve followed this company from the start and I\u2019m grateful for their assistance with the Retirement Fund,\u201d added Cepeda, who previously worked for various companies such as the then-Continental Airlines, Triple B Forwarders, and CNMI Customs.<\/p>\n<p>Cepeda has served to protect the nation\u2019s freedom. He is a retired Army captain.<\/p>\n<p>Cepeda is one of over 1,800 employees that are now working for Imperial Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>Imperial Pacific is preparing to open the casino operation of its multimillion-dollar Imperial Pacific Resort-Casino, its long-term plan is to open the region\u2019s first integrated resort. <\/p>\n<p>Imperial Pacific is keen to catapult the islands to become one the world\u2019s top travel destinations by offering world-class amenities and services.<\/p>\n<p>Today, it is not only the largest private sector employer\u2014thrice the size of the second largest private sector employer in the CNMI\u2014it is growing rapidly, providing unprecedented employment lifeline to local residents and nonresidents. <\/p>\n<p>Undeniably, the NMI\u2019s economy has grown tremendously since 2015\u2014the year when Imperial Pacific invested on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>From 2015 to end of April this year, Imperial Pacific\u2019s employees paid a total of $6.63 million in payroll withholding taxes to the NMI government. This number is about to increase as Imperial Pacific continues its aggressive recruitment and hiring efforts.<\/p>\n<p>For the past three years and four months, Imperial Pacific has contributed a total of $201.6 million into the local economy. This is from combined payments of Business Gross Revenue Tax, corporate income tax, excise tax, casino license fee, Commonwealth Casino Commission operation fund, donations and payroll withholding tax.
