A man was seriously injured after a vehicle hit him as he was crossing Chalan Monsignor Guerrero Road near MangoSix Restaurant in Dandan last Friday night. <\/p>\n

Witnesses said the victim is a manager of Best Sunshine International Ltd. who stays in an inn near the area.<\/p>\n

As of press time there was no update from the Department of Public Safety about the victim\u2019s medical condition at the Commonwealth Health Center.<\/p>\n

DPS has yet to release information about the accident. <\/p>\n

Saipan Tribune learned from witnesses that it was dark in the area where the accident happened at about 10pm.<\/p>\n

The victim, an Asian male, was holding a cellphone and had crossed the highway from the front of MangoSix toward Just Laundry. <\/p>\n

A white Rav 4, being driven by a man, was traveling toward San Jose when it struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was thrown several meters away. The vehicle had a huge dent on its hood.<\/p>\n

Police officers and medics from the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived. While medics did attend to the victim, it took about 25 minutes before an ambulance came, a witness said.<\/p>\n

The victim, who was wearing a dark shirt, was earlier seen using his cellphone while walking on the dimly lit area on the shoulder of the road in front of MangoSix. <\/p>\n
