{"id":254376,"date":"2017-06-14T06:06:40","date_gmt":"2017-06-13T20:06:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=254376"},"modified":"2017-06-14T06:06:40","modified_gmt":"2017-06-13T20:06:40","slug":"rota-man-accused-alleged-sex-assault","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/rota-man-accused-alleged-sex-assault\/","title":{"rendered":"Rota man is accused of alleged sex assault"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An employee of the Rota Mayor\u2019s Office was arrested yesterday for allegedly sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman while drunk last Friday before midnight. <\/p>\n<p>Serafin Manglona Ogo, 33, was taken to court yesterday on charges of sexual assault in the second degree, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n<p>Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio imposed a $25,000 cash bail.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Public Defender Douglas Hartig was appointed as counsel for Ogo. Assistant attorney general Heather Barcinas appeared for the government.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary hearing will be on June 21 at 9am.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Public Safety dispatch received a call on Saturday, asking for police assistance at a home on Rota regarding a sexual assault case.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged victim told police that Ogo sexually assaulted her on Thursday before midnight.<\/p>\n<p>The victim said that Ogo, who smelled of alcohol, sat next to her on a picnic table and rubbed her right inner thigh. When she attempted to move away, Ogo allegedly grabbed her privates.<\/p>\n<p>The victim got up from the table but Ogo allegedly approached from behind, told her not to tell her mother and grabbed her right breast.<\/p>\n<p>The victim said she was so scared.<\/p>\n<p>The victim claimed that Ogo also groped her between May 1 to June 30, 2016, when she was just 17.
