(IMPERIAL PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>With public schools on a summer break, Imperial Pacific International, Ltd. is going full swing with its School Pride Project, a pioneering partnership outreach and engagement initiative of the Corporate Social Responsibility department of the Hong Kong-based investment giant.<\/p>\n<p>The project is key to a larger signature community and environmental-oriented initiative, the \u201cVillage Pride Project\u201d of IPI.<\/p>\n<p>In the last two years, Imperial Pacific\u2019s CSR partnered with 13 public elementary, middle and high schools in the Commonwealth, providing outreach services through partnership with the schools\u2019 repair and rehabilitation work needs.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative has helped public schools with their maintenance and upkeep\u2014costly routine work for a school district that relies on government funding. <\/p>\n<p>There are 18 public schools under the CNMI Public School System, the largest and non-revenue generating government instrumentality in the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n<p>With Imperial Pacific\u2019s engagement with public schools, through its School Pride Project, it is able to help ease some of the challenges that beset schools.<\/p>\n<p>The Commonwealth has over 10,000 public schools students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GES is first <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Garapan Elementary School had been undergoing extensive facelift and rehabilitation work in several areas.<\/p>\n<p>Home to the largest public elementary school population in the Commonwealth, GES is first to benefit from Imperial Pacific\u2019s School Pride Project.<\/p>\n<p>School principal Leila C. Yumul said her school continues to receive tremendous support from Imperial Pacific CSR. This work include the repair and rehabilitation of the school\u2019s only swing set, which was rendered unsafe for use, water blasting and cleanup in preparation for the school\u2019s annual safety and health inspection, maintenance of school grounds, and repair and water blasting of the school\u2019s basketball court and backboards.<\/p>\n<p>The project is also working to rehabilitate the school\u2019s stage. This has been in dire need for major maintenance work due to storm damage.<\/p>\n<p>The need for more funds to repair the stage is also a factor.<\/p>\n<p>IPI\u2019s Corporate Social Responsibility department had also extended support in form of donations to various school-related events to encourage student and family participation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImperial Pacific has been more than supportive of the needs of the school. Their contributions have been helpful in providing a safe and healthy school environment, and allowing the students to gain access to community events and activities,\u201d Yumul said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Yumul, in particular, noted that IPI-CSR is always willing and ready to assist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe factors we considered [in reaching out] to Imperial Pacific International is its quick response, the willingness to assist and provide support to assist the students, and great community involvement in meeting both IPI-CSR and Garapan Elementary School goals,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership between GES and Imperial Pacific\u2019s CSR team is built on teamwork.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGarapan Elementary School is beyond grateful for all that Imperial Pacific have offered to the school. The assistance is beyond needed and appreciated. The work and donations have been due to great teamwork and commitment to the goal of GES and IPI,\u201d Yumul added.
