{"id":255096,"date":"2017-06-27T06:00:58","date_gmt":"2017-06-26T20:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=255096"},"modified":"2017-06-27T06:00:58","modified_gmt":"2017-06-26T20:00:58","slug":"june-26-july-1-young-professionals-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/june-26-july-1-young-professionals-week\/","title":{"rendered":"June 26 to July 1 is Young Professionals Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_255133\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-255133\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/MyPros-pix-300x137.jpg\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-255133\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">MYPros members and Bridge Capital employees pose with acting governor Arnold Palacios after the signing of a proclamation making the week of June 26 to July 1, 2017, Young Professional\u2019s Week (Bea Cabrera)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The week of June 26 to July 1 is Young Professional\u2019s Week in the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>Senate President Arnold Palacios, who is currently the acting governor, signed yesterday a proclamation declaring Young Professional\u2019s Week in the CNMI at the office of Bridge Capital LLC.<\/p>\n<p>The proclamation recognizes young professionals as integral to the CNMI workforce and their role as the economic, social and cultural future of the Commonwealth. <\/p>\n<p>Yesterday\u2019s signing was attended by Bridge Capital officers and the directors and members of the Marianas Young Professionals, a committee of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce that is composed mostly of young professionals.<\/p>\n<p>MYPros president Matt Deleon Guerrero said the proclamation \u201cgets it out there that young professionals are important members of society and the community and that there is a group  of dedicated young folks that want to do good and be able to contribute to the community and be able to network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MYPros was established two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBo Palacios and I got together after being inspired by a group out of Guam. We wanted to start something on Saipan,\u201d said Nola Hix, vice president and MyPROS co-founder. <\/p>\n<p>Palacios is hopeful that young professionals will help build the CNMI. \u201c Our community is hopeful and expecting a lot from young professionals. Your role and your contribution will be defined for the betterment of the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The week will have events for young professionals in the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to connect the young professionals in the community so they can advance civically, socially and professionally so they can be better set to take on roles in the future.
