{"id":255646,"date":"2017-07-05T06:06:33","date_gmt":"2017-07-04T20:06:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=255646"},"modified":"2017-07-05T06:06:33","modified_gmt":"2017-07-04T20:06:33","slug":"man-allegedly-beats-woman-girl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/man-allegedly-beats-woman-girl\/","title":{"rendered":"Man allegedly beats up woman, girl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 19-year-old man was arrested in Kagman on Friday night for allegedly beating up a woman and a 10-year-old girl at an apartment in Finasisu last June 25. <\/p>\n<p>Alexandro Ayuyu Gernardo now faces two counts of assault and battery and two counts of disturbing the peace. His bail was kept at $5,000 cash on Monday. Preliminary hearing will be on July 11 at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of the Public Defender was appointed as counsel for Gernardo. Assistant attorney general Jonathan Wilberscheid appeared for the government.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, the woman and her 10-year-old cousin were home in Finasisu last June 25 when Gernardo came, hit the woman on the shoulder, lower back, leg, and lower jaw.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect allegedly punched the 10-year-old girl on her arm and thigh. The girl called 911 at a neighbor\u2019s house.<\/p>\n<p>The report did not mention how Gernardo is related to the victims.<\/p>\n<p>A police officer responded to the apartment last June 25. Gernardo was then arrested.
