{"id":255770,"date":"2017-07-06T06:00:46","date_gmt":"2017-07-05T20:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=255770"},"modified":"2017-07-06T06:00:46","modified_gmt":"2017-07-05T20:00:46","slug":"103-8-countries-join-tagaman-51-50","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/103-8-countries-join-tagaman-51-50\/","title":{"rendered":"103 from 8 countries join Tagaman 51.50"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A pack of 103 athletes from eight countries were led by Alesandr Dorovskikh of Russia in the 2017 Tagaman 51.50 Triathlon last June 24 on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>Dorovskikh finished the race in 2:12:01.8, followed closely by first female finisher Manami Iijima of Guam, who finished in 2:12:52.1.<\/p>\n<p>Participating athletes from Korea, Russia, Japan, Hong Kong, Guam, the Philippines, USA and The Marianas tooktothe challenge with picture perfect weather conditions for the swim, bike, run event.<\/p>\n<p>The race began at 6am with 1.5K swim leg at Kanoa Resort Saipan, the official hotel of theevent. By 7am, bikers began transitioning at Mina\u2019chom Atdao Pavilion in Susupe and made the 40Kbike course to Banzai and back. The 10K run was from Mina\u2019chom Atdaoalong the lagoon-hugging Beach Road to the Carolinian Utt in Garapan and back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA beautiful day for a beautiful race,\u201d said Marianas Visitors Authority managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. \u201cThe athletes had a safe and enjoyable race, and we are very pleased with the results of the MVA\u2019s partnership with Northern Marianas Cycling Federation and Triathlon Association of the CNMI in organizing the event. Most especially, we thank all our sponsors and supporters who helped make it a success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Tagaman Triathlon is an annual signature event of the Marianas Visitors Authority, aimed at attracting visiting athletes and media coverage for The Marianas.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re glad everything worked perfect and according to plan,\u201d said Ricky Castro, TRAC president. \u201cJust like a symphony, every piece matters to produce beautiful score; the same goes with Tagaman Triathlon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Platinum sponsors are Kanoa Resort &amp; Spa, the official hotel of Tagaman Triathlon, T Galleria and Hyatt Regency Saipan.
