The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. explained yesterday that the power interruption on July 13 that lasted from 1:57pm to 2:22pm was due to an accidental discharge of a transformer that led to the loss of energy in four distribution circuits.<\/p>\n
The outage affected only the southern part of the island.<\/p>\n
\u201cCUC was conducting maintenance work at its power generation facility when an accidental discharge of a step-up transformer led to the de-energization of four distribution circuits. \u2026Once the step-up transformer was ready to put back into service, CUC\u2019s technical team promptly re-energized the affected distribution circuits,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the water service outage in As Lito, As Perdido, Airport Road Dandan, Chalan Monsignor Martinez and Koblerville areas yesterday, July 13, was due to a 6-inch water main break on Airport Road that was identified yesterday afternoon at 3pm.<\/p>\n
Dandan Water operations personnel were making the necessary repairs yesterday that was expected to be completed at 6am.<\/p>\n
