{"id":256611,"date":"2017-07-20T06:06:22","date_gmt":"2017-07-19T20:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=256611"},"modified":"2017-07-20T06:06:22","modified_gmt":"2017-07-19T20:06:22","slug":"bank-accepting-grant-applications-small-businesses-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/bank-accepting-grant-applications-small-businesses-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Bank accepting grant applications for small businesses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bank of Hawaii is now accepting applications for the I Kinometi Para I Kumunid\u00e5t I Isl\u00e5-ta\/Small Business Revitalization and Development Grant for projects that stimulate small business development and economic activity on Saipan. <\/p>\n<p>Small business owners with a successful track record in business operation or management and who have not yet been a recipient of the grant are invited to submit applications by Friday, Aug. 11, 2017. Grants of up to $5,000 each will be awarded.<\/p>\n<p>Bank of Hawaii established the grant program in 2012 to promote new businesses in the Western Pacific and to encourage existing small businesses to expand.<\/p>\n<p>If not already completed, grant awardees are required to successfully complete one of the following before Aug. 11, 2017:<\/p>\n<p>-CNMI Small Business Development Center small business training program.<\/p>\n<p>-Bank of Hawaii Smart Money small business financial education training.<\/p>\n<p>Grant awardees are also expected to report back to the bank on how the grant has made a difference to their business and the community by Friday, Dec. 1, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Application forms are available at Bank of Hawaii\u2019s Garapan branch or by contacting branch manager (Saipan) Rose Sumor at (670) 237-2983.
