There\u2019s still no clear winner for both the Thursday and Tuesday divisions in the Saipan Billiards Association-Budweiser Open 8-Ball leagues. As much as possible teams in the running for the top plums should play smart and error-free so they could earn the bragging rights as season champions.<\/p>\n
There are only six weeks left in the Thursday League\u2014including the scheduled Aug. 10 matches between the Tasha\u2019s Wild Bills and 9 Eleven MJD Warriors, the Chow Time 8-Black Ball and Blue Haus Homeboyz, Tasha\u2019s Extreme and 9 Eleven Jam Shooters, and Sands Team SCS and 9 Eleven Titans II.<\/p>\n
The Black Ball remains on top of the standings with a 119-76 slate after completing an 8-5 win over the Extreme last Thursday night, while the MJD Warriors continue to shadow them at 115-80 despite escaping with a 7-6 decision against Team SCS.<\/p>\n
The Titans II, currently in third at 111-84, dropped a close 7-6 game against the Jam Shooters, the current occupants of the cellar with a 71-124 slate. They are four games behind the Extreme\u2019s 75-120 card.<\/p>\n
The Homeboyz defeated Wild Bill\u2019s, 8-5, to hike their record to 83-112 while relegating their opponents, who could still pull off a surprise and finish in the top three, to 106-89. Team SCS is in fifth at 100-95.<\/p>\n
In the Tuesday League, the 9 Eleven Docomo Hustlers cruised to an easy 10-3 triumph over the cellar-dwelling Chow Time Assassins and improve to 114-81. Their opponents dropped to 72-123.<\/p>\n
The Hustlers hope to further distance themselves as they face the Destroyers (106-89) tomorrow, while Tasha\u2019s Str8 Black Ball take on sister team Crazy 8 and the second-running 9 Eleven Titans clash with the Chow Time Assassins.<\/p>\n
The Titans remain in second with a 110-85 after an 8-5 beating of the Crazy 8, while the Str8 Black Ball are staying close at 109-86 following a 9-4 win over the Destroyers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
