Coughenour accepted yesterday the guilty plea of one of six defendants in a CW-1 scam case.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Zeaur Rahman Dalu pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud in foreign contracting. He will be sentenced on Dec. 22, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Dalu had been charged with one count of mail fraud and two counts of fraud in foreign labor contracting.<\/p>\n<p>The jury trial of Dalu\u2019s five co-defendants will start on Tuesday, Aug. 15.<\/p>\n<p>According to the U.S. government, the defendants collected large amounts of money\u2014roughly between $15,000 and $20,000\u2014from each of 12 victims, all of them Bangladeshi nationals, in exchange for promises of jobs that didn\u2019t exist.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Magistrate Judge Heather L. Kennedy has amended the release conditions of Xiufang Qi, a staff of Beilida Overseas who is among five persons who\u2019ve been indicted for allegedly harboring aliens who worked at the Imperial Pacific\u2019s casino project in Garapan.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy said Qi may seek the permission of the U.S. Probation Office if she wants to exercise.<\/p>\n<p>Qi, through counsel, had asked the court to allow her some freedom so she could take care of personal matters during the day.<\/p>\n<p>According to her counsel, Qi has been essentially under \u201chouse arrest\u201d with electronic monitoring and has complied with the conditions of her pre-trial release.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. government opposed her request. <\/p>\n<p>Her jury trial is scheduled on Oct. 31, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. District Court for the NMI designated Judge John C.
