{"id":257952,"date":"2017-08-11T06:00:16","date_gmt":"2017-08-10T20:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=257952"},"modified":"2017-08-11T06:00:16","modified_gmt":"2017-08-10T20:00:16","slug":"rota-triathlon-registration-ongoing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/rota-triathlon-registration-ongoing\/","title":{"rendered":"Rota triathlon registration ongoing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Registration for the 23rd edition of the Rota Blue Triathlon is ongoing with fees for solo and team participants in the two courses reduced for this year.<\/p>\n<p>Solo competitors for the A-type course will only pay $60, while $50 each for a member in the team category, either by trio or duo only. The fee for the type-B solo event is $80. Entry fees must be paid in cash at the registration desk on Nov. 17.<\/p>\n<p>The A-type solo and team divisions have no time limit while the type-B has an eight-hour time limit. Event T-shirts, swim caps, and awards banquet are included in the entry fee.<\/p>\n<p>Distances for the A-type (solo and team) is composed of a 1.5-kilometer swim, 40-km bike, and 10km run while the B-type is made up of a 2-km swim, 90km bike, and 21km run.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers have allowed the use of wetsuits in the swim leg while bike helmets is a requirement to all participants in the bike portion of the race.<\/p>\n<p>The Top 3 in the men\u2019s and women\u2019s divisions, and age group winners will be receiving prizes. The awards banquet will be held at 6:30pm on Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Round House.<\/p>\n<p>A pre-race briefing is set on Friday, Nov. 17, at 6:30pm at the Rota Resort and Country Club.<\/p>\n<p>The annual event, which was not held last year, is a favorite race by Japanese triathetes every year.
