{"id":258300,"date":"2017-08-17T06:00:31","date_gmt":"2017-08-16T20:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=258300"},"modified":"2017-08-17T06:00:31","modified_gmt":"2017-08-16T20:00:31","slug":"slight-changes-rop22-fight-card","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/slight-changes-rop22-fight-card\/","title":{"rendered":"Slight changes in ROP22 fight card"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Slight changes were made in the tentative fight card of Rites of Passage 22: Rampage, set on Sept. 15 at the Marianas Business Plaza, with Robin Eclavea challenging Roman \u201cSonic Boom\u201d Alvarez in one of the three featured title matches.<\/p>\n<p>Alvarez was about to defend his featherweight belt against Jarome Cruz, but Eclavea stepped in after his fellow Guam fighter pulled out due to work-related issues.<\/p>\n<p>No changes were made in the two other title fights with Rob \u201cThe Deal\u201d Wusstig of Team Tuck hoping to keep the lightweight belt against challenger Min Ju Lee of Korean Top Team, while Trench Tech\u2019s Jordan \u201cThe Machine\u201d Manglona will defend his flyweight crown opposite Mcklane \u201cThe Game\u201d Alfred of Vida MMA Guam.<\/p>\n<p>Alvarez suffered back-to-back injuries while training for two scheduled fights in the Pacific Xtreme Combat and Deep Impact Japan last year. He was also coming off a loss to New Zealand\u2019s Mark Abelardo of Team Quest Thailand in PXC 50 in December 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Manglona, meanwhile, will be fighting in a mixed martial arts event for the first time since beating Guam Muay Thai\/Underworld Extreme\u2019s Scott \u201cDa Slaya\u201d Eclavea (3-3) by split decision PXC 52 in Guam last year.<\/p>\n<p>There were changes in the nine MMA bouts with Jaybo Frederick of Steel Athletics going up against Trench Tech\u2019s Kier Agda at 185 lbs, while Korean Top Team\u2019s Sung Kwon Kim facing Steel Athletics\u2019 Patrick Ungcangco at 155 lbs.<\/p>\n<p>Independent fighter Jesse Mesa replaced Ground Fu\u2019s Kyle Gumataotao in a 120-lb bout against Jadrien \u201cLast King\u201d Camacho of Down2Scrap.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the matches stay the same with Trench Tech\u2019s Luis \u201cTwoTwo\u201d Litulumar (65 lbs) facing Team Tinian\u2019s William Juanis King (70 lbs) in a kids exhibition match followed by Derrick Evangelista (135 lbs) of Guam Muay Thai clashing with Lenny \u201cMaching Gun\u201d Sablan (140 lbs).<\/p>\n<p>Team Tinian\u2019s Kimo Adriano will open up the MMA fights when he takes on Andres \u201cThe Tanapag Beach Bad Boy\u201d Camacho at 130 lbs, while Red Ants Academy\u2019s JBoy Langu will face Manny \u201cThe Kid\u201d Camacho of Zombie MMA in a featherweight bout and Team Tinian\u2019s Audrien Cruz meets Zombie MMA\u2019s George \u201cGame Over\u201d Grover at 130 lbs.<\/p>\n<p>Rota and Tinian fighters will take center stage in the next three fights with L.D. Ogo, John Mendiola, and A.J.
