This year\u2019s Parade of Cultures will be held on Sept. 2, 2017, in downtown Garapan, Saipan to kick off the 3rd International Festival of Cultures every Saturday night in September.  (MVA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Parade of Cultures returns on Sept. 2, marking the first night of the Marianas\u2019 Visitors Authority\u2019s 3rd Annual International Festival of Cultures.<\/p>\n<p>The parade, featuring walking groups showcasing their traditional attire from the Pacific and Asia, will begin at 5pm at American Memorial Park and proceed south on Beach Road to the festival grounds at Garapan Fishing Base.  <\/p>\n<p>The International Festival of Cultures celebrates the ethnic diversity of the Marianas and will be held every Saturday evening in September beginning on Sept. 2, 2017. <\/p>\n<p>The festival will feature ethnic food, dances, ethnic attires, games, crafts, cultural demonstrations and more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Parade of Cultures is not a long or loud parade, but it is very colorful and vibrant, with our various cultures in the Marianas showing their cultural pride and many fine details of how different cultures adorn themselves,\u201d said MVA Community Projects manager Martin Duenas. \u201cWe invite all the community to come out and enjoy the parade and join in the welcoming performances for the event and then take time to learn about the various participating cultures during the festival.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s festival will feature a new time of 5pm to 9pm.
