Having served 12 years at the University of Guam as faculty and associate dean of CLASS, his most recent position was provost fellow to the senior vice president of Academic and Student Affairs. <\/p>\n<p>McVey earned a bachelor\u2019s degree of Fine Arts in Theatre Technology from Drake University in 1998 and a master of Fine Arts in Theatre Design from Tulane University in 2004. This year he completed his Doctor of Education in Global Education from the University of Southern California.<\/p>\n<p>In his new capacity, McVey will work closely with the Office of Enrollment Management and Student Success and the deans on student success initiatives such as academic advisement, transfer students, and high-impact practices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new position continues the traditions of graduate studies,\u201d said McVey. \u201cIt also allows for new inspections of difficult issues for university matters that span multiple academic and student service units. My hope is to create an atmosphere of constructive thought, progressive action, and student-centered conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The University appointed Deborah Leon Guerrero assistant vice president for Institutional Effectiveness.
