{"id":258694,"date":"2017-08-23T06:06:38","date_gmt":"2017-08-22T20:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=258694"},"modified":"2017-08-23T06:06:38","modified_gmt":"2017-08-22T20:06:38","slug":"senate-oks-holly-nomination-cuc-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/senate-oks-holly-nomination-cuc-board\/","title":{"rendered":"Senate OK\u2019s Holly nomination to CUC board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Senate approved last week Matthew Holly\u2019s nomination to the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. board, inching closer to the board\u2019s revival.<\/p>\n<p>According to Holly, CUC is still faced with \u201cmany challenges\u201d but the corporation has \u201cplans already in place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026 We still have a ways to go,\u201d said Holly in an interview. <\/p>\n<p>He cited the 58-percent non-revenue water loss caused by leaks. He said there has been \u201csome improvement\u201d on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to continue in that front and see where we are falling short,\u201d he said, adding that restoring public trust and practicing transparency remains his priorities.<\/p>\n<p>Holly joins both Weston Deleon Guerrero, whose nomination the Senate approved at an earlier date, and Commonwealth Development Authority\u2019s Ignacio Perez on the CUC board.<\/p>\n<p>Gov. Ralph DLG Torres last Aug. 10, 2017, nominated Miranda V.
