U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona handed down on Tuesday a 30-month prison term against a man for selling methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d in Garapan in 2014.<\/p>\n
After completing his prison term, Xi Rong Chen, also known as Loa Biao, will be placed on supervised release for three years.<\/p>\n
Among the conditions of his supervised release is that Chen must report to an immigration official for deportation proceedings, perform 100 hours of community work service, and pay a $100 special assessment fee immediately after his sentencing.<\/p>\n
Chen pleaded guilty last January to an indictment charging him with distribution of a controlled substance as part of a plea deal.<\/p>\n
Chen sold 4.8 grams of 98.8 percent of d-methamphetamine hydrochloride to an individual working as a confidential source for the Drug Enforcement Administration in the area of the old Winchell\u2019s Donut House on Beach Road on Aug. 19, 2014.<\/p>\n
Chen later said he knew that the substance he sold to the confidential source was methamphetamine.<\/p>\n
