The Tan Siu Lin Foundation will host the 2nd Annual \u201cWe Will Never Forget: Field of Heroes\u201d on Sept. 5-17 at the Veterans Memorial Park on Tinian, Sept. 7-22 at the Corporal Joe G. Charfauros Jr. Veterans Memorial Park on Rota, and Sept. 10-18 at the American Memorial Park on Saipan. <\/p>\n

Building on a highly successful first year\u2019s display, this year\u2019s posting of U.S. flags will bring the community together to remember the victims of the 9\/11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon 16 years ago and honor community heroes\u2014past and present service members, public safety officers, fire and rescue personnel, EMTs, paramedics, and other first responders.<\/p>\n

Tribute ceremonies will be held at each event site\u2014Sept. 8 on Rota at 4:30pm, Sept. 11 on Tinian at 10am, and Sept. 11 on Saipan immediately following the Freedom Walk, which begins at the Garapan Fishing Base at 5pm and ends at the American Memorial Park.<\/p>\n

Remember a victim of the 9\/11 attacks or honor a community hero by sponsoring a flag in their name.<\/p>\n

For a small donation, sponsors may retain the flag at the close of the event or just have the flags posted in the name of a hero for the duration of the event. Commemorative T-shirts are also available for a small donation. All funds raised will go toward providing local support for PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder.<\/p>\n

Flag and T-shirt donations may be dropped off at I-Shops at Kanoa Resort, Fiesta Resort & Spa or Paseo de Marianas, Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shops, the Tan Siu Lin Foundation Office on the second floor of the JP Center in Garapan, the Tinian Mayor\u2019s Office, or the Rota Mayor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe invite the public to support the \u2018We Will Never Forget: Field of Heroes\u2019 and walk through the orderly rows of flags,\u201d said TanHoldings president Jerry Tan. \u201cA visit is necessary to truly appreciate the display of flags honoring 9\/11 attack victims and community heroes. Donors, event sponsors, and visitors know to expect an inspiring and memorable display of red, white and blue while supporting a great cause,\u201d added Tan.<\/p>\n
