Ralph DLG Torres enacted two local bills last week that benefited both Saipan and Tinian.<\/p>\n<p>House Local Bill 20-17 appropriates $12,000 to Tinian under Public Law 18-30, or the law that taxes poker machines, e-gaming machines, or electronic table games. It goes into the books as Tinian Local Law 20-04. The amount would be expended for personnel, operations, public programs, and contingency of the Tinian and Aguiguan Mayor\u2019s Office as well as the monthly subsistence allowance of $100 each per medical patients of Tinian.<\/p>\n<p>Torres also signed Senate Local Bill 20-2, which establishes Rota\u2019s official anthem. Now known as Rota Local Law 20-06, \u201cI Tano\u2019-Mami\u201d is considered the first senatorial district\u2019s official anthem.<\/p>\n<p>Oscar Atalig Mendiola wrote and composed the anthem, while Melchor Atalig recorded it. According to the RLL 20-06, the anthem is sung after the United States and Commonwealth anthems at official government ceremonies. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
