{"id":260049,"date":"2017-09-12T06:00:18","date_gmt":"2017-09-11T20:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=260049"},"modified":"2017-09-12T06:00:18","modified_gmt":"2017-09-11T20:00:18","slug":"4-day-ph-consular-outreach-600-plus-participants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/4-day-ph-consular-outreach-600-plus-participants\/","title":{"rendered":"4-day PH consular outreach had 600-plus participants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam, encourages Filipino citizens to take into account the expiration of their passports and set a schedule for an appointment to have them renewed eight months in advance. <\/p>\n<p>For those in the CNMI, that would mean keeping in mind that the process of renewing a Philippine passport may take up to eight months and must be done well in advance of the scheduled consular outreach of the Guam consulate to the CNMI. <\/p>\n<p>In its latest foray to Saipan, the Philippine Consulate General conducted an outreach mission at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center since Friday last week up until yesterday. <\/p>\n<p>The mission accommodated over 600 registered participants. <\/p>\n<p>According to Philippine consul Mark Hamoy, this mission is a continuation of their regular consular duties to the Northern Mariana Islands and focused mainly on the renewal of passports and registration for the 2019 election. <\/p>\n<p>In the past four days, the outreach program accommodated an average of 120 individuals per days and registered over 100 voters, Hamoy said.<\/p>\n<p>Filipino citizens who are interested in voting in the 2019 election must register during the consular outreach ]. <\/p>\n<p>Hamoy also reminds Filipino citizens to check the expiration on their passports and plan ahead so that they can catch the consular outreach missions when they are here on island. <\/p>\n<p>According to Hamoy, there is one more consular outreach for 2018, set for November.
