{"id":260127,"date":"2017-09-13T06:00:12","date_gmt":"2017-09-12T20:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=260127"},"modified":"2017-09-13T06:00:12","modified_gmt":"2017-09-12T20:00:12","slug":"snild-appropriates-1m-saipan-precincts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/snild-appropriates-1m-saipan-precincts\/","title":{"rendered":"SNILD appropriates $1M to Saipan precincts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation passed last Friday a bill that appropriates $1 million to numerous entities and projects across the five precincts on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>House Local Bill 20-36 S1 will benefit 23 entities and projects across Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>The Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office will get the largest share of the bunch, being appropriated $220,000 for the purchase of a new tractor\/boom mower. <\/p>\n<p>The Northern Marianas Protection &amp; Advocacy Systems Inc. received $80,000; the Commonwealth zoning board received $75,000 for \u201ctheir enforcement personnel and operation\u201d; and $50,000 each will go to the Carolinian Affairs Office, Micronesian Legal Services Corp., and the Latte Training Academy.<\/p>\n<p>A total of $34,000 was appropriated to the Department of Finance, Division of Procurement and Supply for the purchase of a new vehicle; $25,000 each was appropriated to the Civil Service Commission, the CNMI Drug Court for the purchase of a new vehicle, the Commonwealth Women\u2019s Association for renovation, and the Department of Labor for the procurement of a vehicle; $20,000 each was appropriated to the CNMI Salvation Army and the Department of Commerce.<\/p>\n<p>The expenditure authorities for about half of the appropriations are the Secretary of Finance, while the other half is the Secretary of the Department of Public Works.<\/p>\n<p>H.L.B. 20-36 S1 now goes to Gov.
