Ralph DLG Torres and the Legislature allocating funds for the trips.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been planning to do this since we reconstituted the commission in 2012,\u201d said commission chair Herman R. Guerrero, \u201cbut budget limitations didn\u2019t allow it until this year. We thank the governor and the Legislature for providing us with a budget for [fiscal year] 2017 that allowed these trips. We hope our future budgets allow continued visits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Guerrero said the commission wants to meet on Rota and Tinian at least once a year to allow civil service employees to meet with them and share any concerns.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are landmark trips,\u201d he said. \u201cTo my knowledge, these were the first times that the Civil Service Commission met outside Saipan.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>He said there are civil service employees both on Tinian and and Rota \u201cand we want to meet with them and give them the opportunity to attend our meetings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The commission met on Rota from July 25 to July 27 at the Rota Health Clinic.  <\/p>\n<p>The meeting on Tinian was held on Aug. 23 to Aug. 25 at the Tinian Gaming Control Commission conference room.  <\/p>\n<p>Both meetings were attended by several civil service employees who participated in the commission\u2019s discussion.
