One of two women who burglarized and ransacked some rooms at an apartment on Navy Hill has been slapped with a three-year prison term.<\/p>\n
Johnalyn Salinas was sentenced to five years imprisonment, all suspended except for three years, for burglary.<\/p>\n
Salinas, 35, was given credit for 106 days of time served. Upon completing her prison term, she will be placed on supervised probation for five years.<\/p>\n
Salinas shall pay a total of $794 in restitution to five victims, a $100 fine, and $100 in court costs. She will be required to perform 200 hours of community service, complete drug and alcohol counseling, and apologize to the victims.<\/p>\n
She is prohibited from drinking alcoholic beverages during her probation.<\/p>\n
At a change of plea last Wednesday, Salinas pleaded guilty to burglary as part of a plea deal. The remaining charges of conspiracy to commit burglary and theft and theft were dropped.<\/p>\n
According to the plea deal, Salinas burglarized some rooms at the Blue Hill Apartment on Navy Hill on May 21, 2017.<\/p>\n

Salinas and her co-defendant, Laraad Ramangmou, were arrested a few days after the burglary because of a surveillance camera in the apartment that led to their identification.<\/p>\n
Ramangmou is expected to also enter a guilty plea at a hearing on Thursday at 9am.<\/p>\n
A police officer was dispatched last May 22 to the Blue Hill Apartment on Navy Hill, in response to a complaint of burglary.<\/p>\n
One of the victims told the responding officer that she noticed that her yellow bag was missing upon waking up last May 21.<\/p>\n
The following day, May 22, she noticed that even her guitar, which was in a case, was also gone.<\/p>\n
When she asked her roommates about her missing items, she found out that they also lost some items: dresses, shoes, shirts, sunglasses, identification cards, bags, all worth $900; plus cellphones, a laptop, passport, wallet, identification cards, $5,900 worth of Chinese currency, and $510 cash.<\/p>\n
Police reviewed the apartment\u2019s surveillance footage and identified Salinas and Ramangmou as the persons who burglarized the rooms, stole several items, and left aboard a sedan with license plate ADU-542.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
