Delta Air Lines is reportedly pulling out from Guam by the end of this year and customers trying to book round-trip flights to the U.S. territory beyond 2018 are being directed to other carriers.<\/p>\n
Saipan Tribune sources affirmed rumors about the Guam pullout, but flights to Saipan remain unaffected. There was no immediate statement from Delta about the rumor.<\/p>\n
A Guam resident confirmed reports that are circulating about Delta pulling out from Guam, but no definite reason has been given as of press time. <\/p>\n
A customer tried to book a Guam-Narita flight in February 2018 online, but the computer didn\u2019t provide available flights in 2018. <\/p>\n
\u201cI tried economy seats and the first class but not one available seat showed up. The customer representative who tried to help me was caught off-guard and couldn\u2019t explain why flights in February 2018 won\u2019t show.\u201d <\/p>\n
Currently, there are three flights that service the Guam-Narita route\u2014Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Japan Airlines. <\/p>\n
According to the Guam customer, tight competition among airlines that service the route may be the reason why Delta Air Lines is pulling out of Guam. <\/p>\n
In June this year, budget airline HK Express suspended its Guam service between Hong Kong and Guam. <\/p>\n
