TanHoldings Football Club bounced back from its season-debut loss with a 3-2 victory against Kanoa FC in their boys U14 division game in the 2017 NMIFA Fall Youth League last Saturday at the Koblerville Elementary School Field.<\/p>\n

TanHoldings drew goals from three different players to get back on track quickly after absorbing a 0-2 loss to MP United during the league\u2019s opening week. Oliver Fajardo started things out for the defending champion with his goal right in the first minute, while Angelo Pulido scored the squad\u2019s second goal four minutes later.<\/p>\n

Kanoa failed to counter in the entire first half and was pressed to play catch up in the last 35 minutes of the game. A Brian Lubao shot in the 42nd minute moved Kanoa within one, but Aloy Zeus Angeles gave TanHoldings more breathing room with his conversion in the 50th minute. Angeles\u2019 goal eventually served as insurance for TanHoldings, as four minutes later, Lubao made a penalty kick tocut the deficit to one anew.<\/p>\n

Angeles and company kept the shaky lead in the remaining minutes, frustrating Kanoa\u2019s repeated attempts to knot the count. With the defeat, Kanoa dropped to the bottom of the team standings with its 0-0-2 win-draw-loss record. Kanoa also lost a closely fought match against Shirley\u2019s FC, 4-5, in Week 1 of the league,<\/p>\n

In other results, Shirley\u2019s posted win No. 2, while Matansa and 2017 spring season champion MP United engaged in a scoreless draw.<\/p>\n

Shirley\u2019s and Paire were still tied in the second half, 3-3, when the latter was forced to forfeit the match due to lack of players. Paire was left with four players (6 are required to play) with only 10 minutes remaining in the second half, as some had to go to Hopwood Middle School to suit up for the club\u2019s U12 squad. <\/p>\n

With the forfeiture, Shirley\u2019s was awarded the 3-0 victory. Before the free win, Rommel Mendoza tallied two goals, while Rakib Hassan scored one for Shirley\u2019s. Jon Villagomez recorded all three goals for Paire.

\nCO-ED U12 DIVISION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kanoa-1 10, Kanoa-2 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

Defending champion Kanoa-1 showed no mercy to sister team Kanoa-2 with the former\u2019s lopsided victory.<\/p>\n

Kanoa-1 pounded Kanoa-2 early after scoring seven goals in the first half. Ruben Guerrero and Jim Kurt Maniago had two goals apiece in the first 30 minutes of the one-sided match, while Ronian Laxamana, Sean Gil, and Lester Bata chipped in one each. Bata went on to make a hat trick after getting a brace in the second half, posting back-to-back goals (47th and 54th minute) to close out for Kanoa-1. Markus Toves nailed the other goal for Kanoa-1 in the second half, while Joshua Park and Christopher Daikichy drilled one each for Kanoa-2.<\/p>\n

Last Saturday was both team\u2019s first match, as the division\u2019s triple-header last Sept. 9 was cancelled due to rain.<\/p>\n

MP United 10, Paire 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

MP United also won its season-debut match convincingly after routing Paire.<\/p>\n

Andrew Chung was unstoppable in MP United\u2019s first game this fall after exploding for six goals. Evan Mendiola, Garrett Weaver, and Cody Shimizu contributed one goal apiece for MP United.<\/p>\n

Dylan Mister registered all three goals for Paire, making the hat trick in the second half.<\/p>\n

TanHoldings 6, Matansa 4<\/strong><\/p>\n

TanHoldings joined MP United and Kanoa-1 in the win column after outclassing Matansa.<\/p>\n

Pulido lifted TanHoldings to victory after knocking down three straight goals\u2014all of them were recorded in the second half to foil Matansa\u2019s comeback bid.<\/p>\n

TanHoldings started the second half enjoying a 3-0 lead after Anthony Bergancia made back-to-back goals (18th and 21st minute) and Mark Joseph Roque added one in the 25th. However, TanHoldings\u2019 lead was trimmed down to one, 1-2, no thanks to a pair of goals from Kanoa\u2019s Chanyang Woo, who scored the two goals just two minutes into the second half.<\/p>\n

Pulido then saved the day for TanHoldings, as his first goal in the 37th minute halted Matansa\u2019s rally. However, Matansa was not yet ready to give up as it moved within one anew off Jin Wen Xin\u2019s shot a minute later. With Matansa threatening a comeback, Pulido iced it for TanHoldings with his goals in the 42nd and 50th minute. Woo duplicated Pulido\u2019s hat trick in the 53rd minute, but it was not enough to prevent TanHoldings from winning its first match this season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
