Apatang said a boardwalk is a good investment and could further attract residents and visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office special assistant Henry Hofschneider said he and the office would be working toward the creation of a boardwalk during Apatang\u2019s term that will end next year.<\/p>\n<p>The project will be a collaborative effort with the Marianas Visitors Authority, the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality, and many other agencies on Saipan that deal with both beautification and the island\u2019s preservation. <\/p>\n<p>The plan is to establish a boardwalk near the Atkins Kroll intersection that will start from the beach shore and stretch about 50 feet into the ocean. <\/p>\n<p>According to Hofschneider, the boardwalk will most likely connect to the existing Beach Road Pathway. <\/p>\n<p>Although nothing is set in stone, a boardwalk will not only be an attraction, but it could also encourage people to walk the pathway in order to reach the boardwalk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office wants to create a boardwalk along Beach Road.
